God Give Us Faith for Global Evangelism

Matthew 24:14 ESV
14And this gospel of the kingdom be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

2 Peter 3:9 ESV
9The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Doesn’t it seem absolutely scandalous that God would so trust humanity with the message of the gospel that He’d give us a mission and then call us to fulfill it?
Some might think it arm twisting of Him to do so or perhaps even manipulating…To think, the God of the universe would call upon His redeemed creation to fulfill the purpose and mission for which they were created?  To think that He would expect the redeemed to carry a message of redemption because He:

so loved the world,  that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:16-17 ESV).”

Hopefully you are picking up on my sarcasm.  The scriptures are deeply compelling if we will listen to their instruction with the ears of our spirit.

The way in which the Kingdom of God advances is designed by God as a testament to His own faith in you and I as Christ-followers.  He is waiting for us to answer the call to walk in the Kingdom partnership He created for us in our “Great Gospel of the Kingdom Mission. “  But we conveniently like to think that He was somehow confused when He did this and doesn't know what we are really capable of in Christ.  I know I am guilty of this.  We like to think that the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that He makes available to us is somehow just not quite what we need. Remember friends, He made us and formed us in our mother’s womb did He not?   Is it any wonder why our Heavenly Father has to be patient with us?  The call to have faith for Evangelism that sweeps across the face of the earth is ours.  The power is His as is the Gospel of Kingdom.  The transportation and communication is ours.

Be convinced of this:  God is so certain of the spectacular nature of what He has done in us at the moment of salvation, and what He is doing in us even now through the power of the Holy Spirit, that the world will hear it as good news.  There is power in your story because there is power in the cross!  Come on, mighty man of God!  Come on, mighty Woman of God!  Stand up!  Let’s ready our minds for action!  Let’s stop arguing with God as if our knowledge about our lives is some sort of problem to be solved, a prize to be won and get busy living out the mystery of the cross.  Time is short and God picked us!  He called you by name and did not stutter even a little bit when doing so.

Hallelujah!

The world is waiting to hear.  God is patiently waiting for our obedience.  Are we ready to carry and communicate the Gospel of the Kingdom?  You were made for this.  Are you willing to see what God sees?  Just in case you are not sure what we are wrestling with is really our mandate from God’s own heart, check out these scriptures.

John 4:35 ESV
34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. 35Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

Matthew 9:35 ESV
35And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Isaiah 6:8 ESV
8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

Prayer:
The Harvest is ready…even almost over ripe…Ask the Lord to empower you to move, to go as sent ones, with His authority, full of the Holy Ghost and fire.
Ask the Lord to send you as His ambassador of compassion to a lost and dying world.
Where you cannot go, ask the Lord to empower those who can.
Ask the Lord to move upon your heart to support missions like never before.
Get serious about what you are praying my friends.
Ask God to send you and others to the harassed and helpless who have no true vision of Jesus but for our obedience to “the call.”
Ask God to advance the gospel through confirming signs and wonders that only He can bring to pass through the obedience of the Church (that's you and I).
Ask God to give you names that don’t leave your attention, that you will hold in intercession for salvation.
Take your place as a harvester partnering with those Christ-followers who have gone before us and who are, even now, going with us.
Write it down and declare what is burning in your heart aloud.  God, give us faith for Global Evangelism!  Hear am I, send me!
